If you feel stuck, this is for you.
Stuck in that bad habit…
Stuck in that unhealthy relationship…
Stuck in that negative mindset…
I know how you feel. But there is hope – you don’t have to stay where you are right now. This doesn’t have to be your story forever.
I was sitting outside yesterday and it was super windy. There I am, just looking up at the sky, enjoying the sunshine and breathing in the fresh air. I noticed the clouds were trying to move to the left while the wind was pushing hard to the right, moving in the opposite direction. It was interesting to watch because the clouds couldn’t move anywhere. They were just stuck and barely inching forward because they were trying to go one way while the wind was pushing the other way, so they just didn’t move at all.
I know that has been the same with me and God sometimes, and maybe you’ve felt this, too. You want to do this your own way. You want to figure this out by yourself. You know what’s best…maybe you just need to try a little harder.
God’s trying to get us to go His way – a way that’s full of peace, ease, and joy – but if we’re trying so hard to go the other way, our own way, then we just stay stuck right where we are. We get stuck in bad habits, unhealthy relationships, addictions, any and all of those problems that we want to change but can’t quite seem to break free from. We end up anxious, hopeless, and lost.
So what is God’s way for you? Well, maybe you know exactly what it is and you’ve been thinking about it the entire time you’ve been reading this. Listen to that nudge inside – if you’re a follower of Christ, you have the Holy Spirit within you and you can trust that voice of peace that has told you what to do. Or maybe you have no idea what it is and you feel completely lost. That’s okay. Be still and pray. Ask God to show you His will for you and what He thinks you should be doing. He will be faithful to lead you if you’ll admit you need a hand.
Let God push you His way. Let go of your fight today and let Him take you exactly where He wants you to go.
